If you step outside and look up you’ll see the best color of summer: sky blue. It’s nature at its best: super crisp, pure and clean.
I love this calming and beautiful room by Steven Gambrel. He used Benjamin Moore's "Adagio" (1593). (image via Elle Decor)
If we’re being honest, I’m not huge on sky blue walls (as many of my clients know…and yes, I do make a few exceptions) but I love it for accents. I love the way the architecture of the Gambrel room above both highlights the blue and tones it down: very sophisticated and lovely…and I don’t read the walls as blue at all. What an easy and welcome way to bring summer into your home all year round!
Here are my favorite Sky Blue accessories right now. I hope you like them, too!
Clockwise from chandelier at top: Ice Blue Chandelier by Refer + Staer, price on request (image via Torp Toronto); Kado Blue Plate from Crate and Barrel, $5 (image via Crate and Barrel); Pagoda Table Lamp by Worlds Away, $350 (image via Clayton Gray Home); Hand-blocked Tiger Pillow Cover from West Elm, $19 (image via West Elm); Trina Turk Hook Rug in Greek Key Blue, $160 (image via Layla Grayce); Book Boxes in Blue from Wisteria, $49 (image via Wisteria); Claire Faux Bamboo Mirror by Bungalow 5, $650 (image via Bungalow 5); Birdcage Chair by Katie Maennle, $2,150 (image via Katie Maennle.com)
How could you NOT love that Birdcage Chair from Kate Maennle in any color? Have a great weekend, and hopefully you will be able to spend some of it outside enjoying the sky!
