Celebrating 100 Posts With Our FIRST GIVEAWAY!

30 Dec

Today is my 100th post, and as a special Thank You to all of my readers, old and new, I am doing my first giveaway!  I have a few more fabulous giveaways planned for January and February, so I hope you are as excited as I am about this new feature!  Up for grabs to a random reader is a copy of “House Beautiful Colors for Your Home: 300 Designer Favorites.”  It’s compact, pretty, and inspiring — the perfect reference for anyone who loves color and likes to decorate!

Who knew references could be so much fun?!

The rules are simple:

Leave a comment for this post telling us what your favorite wall color is, and you’ve entered!  The drawing will be open until 11:59pm on Sunday, January 2nd, and the winner will be chosen through a random number generator on Monday. One comment per person, please.

Tell your friends, and good luck!

THANKS for reading! I hope that you continue to stop by in 2011.

My favorite wall color is Behr’s Pesto green! Love the blog Jessica!

oh, I’m all over this! I am having trouble deciding between my red kitchen or my mocha chocolate wall in my living room! But I’m thinking my chocolate wall, I LOVE it! Although it could change. We are about to paint Cadence’s room a sparkle purple color. Any thoughts about adding sparkle to paint?? I guess Velspar has a packet you add to the paint. So I may like that better!!

I think you’re referring to the granite crystals that you mix into the paint, right? If so, I have not used or seen them applied, but I hear that people have really good results – looking forward to seeing how it turns out! What a lucky little girl Cadence is that you let her have her own personality in her room!

When I was a teen I had my dad paint my room a bright teal. It made me so happy to live in such a loud room.

    love the blog lady!

Ralph Lauren Suede Valencia Violet. Not on any of my walls, but I wish it was.

My current love is Farrow & Ball’s “Skylight” which is a pale blue/gray color. I’ve used it in 2 client’s houses already and it never fails. It is bright, cheerful and sophisticated all at the same time.

Obviously, anything purple! But I especially love the African Violet that you featured in a blog post last month.

I also love my chocolate wall. I also have a caramel color that I love.

I want a color like this:
http://dnkenterprises.com/PashminaColors/DkPlum.jpg on my wall somewhere. Maybe I will re-do my bathroom.

I had a pale yellow room as a teen with very bright vibrant multi-color comforter, I love just being in that room.

My favorite paint color is Freshaire’s Naturalist Grey. Subtle, clean, not over-bearing and goes perfectly with my big white bed!

Good question! I love pink for me and Lark to wear, but for decorating I love lobster orange-red. It isn’t as bold as fire engine red, isn’t a cool red, like burgundy, but has good warmth and brightness. It is also a whimsical color, so, to me, it adds fun to a room and makes it less stuffy.

Tangerine improves my mood, but blue (the color of the water in Grand Cayman or Antigua) is my favorite calming influence. Love your blog, Jessica!

I like most of the colors we’ve used in our house so far (excepting Behr’s Toffee Crunch, which sounds delicious but looks way too orange)…but the most fun to paint was Glidden’s Truly Olive. It straddles the line between bold and acceptable…and actually is a very accurate olive color. I think green is a tricky color to get right, but this one is a good one.

I have tried purple and thought it looked a bit depressing after a while so I’m more into yellow/green now.

Such a tough call because I love all of the colors you have picked out for our house so far! If I had to narrow it down to 2 – I would pick the Van Courtland blue in our office or the Dry Sage in the family room. I’m enjoying the blog!

I guess this makes me boring, but I love beige / neutral-colored walls. They look great with my dark furniture and provide a great base for other colors in the room. So I choose Benjamin Moore’s Bleeker Beige.
